Hmpfgl... finally it got me as well. All activity on my account activity is gone. Since 4 weeks now. :(

Just an idea: Try to look at SQ or TG - much better timing than the SK flights. Yes these routings are a bit longer - but timing is so much better. And much better transit points as well.

Thanks, I'll let him know.
Might be too late though - I think he might have booked already.
And work requires cheap tickets (SAS has very cheap Youth tickets if any available).

I need to be in SGN next month for a few days, the only flights SAS is offering me are end-to-end on TG. Does anyone know why?

I'd like to have the flight to Asia on SK without having to book separate itineraries if it can be avoided. The EK routing has a very long layover in DXB and the AY routing puts us on a CX flight in HKG that SK should be able to book us onto as well. The AY routing comes with 2/3 flights on Airbus 359 and would probably be the preferred routing if SK can't facilitate.

Probably a consequence of 1) the very early departure SK has from HKG (which makes it impossible to make same day connections - and just one of the reasons I detest the ARN-HKG routing) and 2) the BKK option is much shorter.

Google flights also only shows one * option (with 1 stop) - and that is TG (SK code share) via BKK. I am sure your travel agent can make a ticket for you with the SK flight to HKG - and then onwards to SGN

The SK fares filed are via HKG/BKK/SIN:

Perfect, so there is an SK fare via HKG. I'll give them a call.

Thanks Oliver.

Can anyone recommend a tame travel agent? I'm sick of HUCA when trying to do combinable LH and SK fares. I have the fare bases etc. for a Norwegian point of sale but I'm sure the availability will be the same pretty much anywhere and I'm not fussy.

Also, if I book through an OTA would I get advanced seat reservations?

If you live near one, try pop in - it's better than over the phone (you never know what they are doing when they are talking to you - could be playing Pokemon Go :D).

If not - try sending them an email to see if they can price and ticket your fare.

Yes - you can get ASR for both LH and SK for *G.

Thanks! If only I did live near one... logistically it probably would be easiest to pop into the head office of SMT in Vantaa but they probably wouldn't want to deal with me :D (and it's 2 euros a minute to call...).

For this trip I went with CheapOair, the price I paid matches what I found on ITA Matrix and it managed to find SK marketed flights for me, too (which is nice, seeing as I qualify for EBD on segments).

This mostly worked - I got the PNR from CheapOair, put it into the SK website and got SK ASR. There's an LX operated flight for which I need to find a way to get the operating PNR, though.

Also, I can't add the prime PNR to MyFlights - the booking doesn't appear to allow third parties to access it.

No access to awards with US to Oz ?

Just stumbled over this one from sas.dk United partner section:

"You can spend points on flights operated by United, except on charter & flights to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia." (highlighting is mine)

I realize this is a highly demanded award route MP members - but I have not seen it was blocked to EB members before. Is this new?

heloscAug 10, 2016 1:46 pm

SAS has a 'warning' on their site about still having an old plane flying long-distance routes - with smaller Plus seats.
Does anyone know which route(s) it flies?

I want to put in a bid for an upgrade to Plus but not if it is an old plane.

The information I have about the flight that I want to upgrade is:
CPH - Shanghai
SK997
Airbus Industrie A340-300

The warning hinted at the back up plane LN-RKP, the ex LAN-Chile bird. However, it has received new plus seats by now, so the warning is outdated.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 3:35 am.
